About

About Me-

Hi there! I’m Ramie – the voice behind the blog (and the camera lens). Others in my tribe include my spunky, tenacious daughter Piper, and my saint of a mother, Patti. Together we make up “Carlson Girls AK.”

**We also recently added a “Carlson Boy” to the tribe. Brodie is our lovable, energetic Golden Retriever. He helps encourage us outside on days we’d rather have a Netflix marathon.

My “day job” offers opportunity to explore, learn and play daily! I work as a kindergarten teacher and fully believe that my kids teach me as much as I teach them. I love that every day allows for new opportunity, challenge, and growth in the classroom.

When not teaching or blogging, you can find me and my tribe exploring, running, hiking and playing throughout Alaska, usually somewhere between the mountains and the sea.

About this blog-

I started blogging as a way to share my adventures in rural Alaska. What I found, was a tribe of like-minded women from all genres of the blogisphere. You see, like many of you, I am multi-passionate.

I love my family, my job, food, running, hiking, travel, and exploring all that Alaska has to offer. And I love sharing it all with my readers!

I am also passionate about building community. Being a parent can be a lonely gig. Why not build a space where we can collaborate, share tips and ideas, and connect through common goals and interests?! Let us form fierce friendships, boldly believe in one another, motivate, inspire, and encourage. If that sounds like a community for you, stick around!

My “mission” of this blog is to provide a space for adventure moms and families, aspiring adventure moms and families, and the like.

What you’ll find here is a collection of our experiences exploring around the state, motivation to get you and your little’s outside, running/race recaps, Alaskan travel tips, and the highs and lows of being a single mom. Life is not always pretty and it certainly does not always fit into particular “niche.” But if you love travel, adventure, the outdoors, and/or want to learn more about various regions of Alaska, you’ve come to right spot!

PLEASE use this space as your own. Comment, ask questions, collaborate, create, inspire. I’ll do my best to answer any questions and respond to all comments in a timely manner. I look forward to “meeting” each and every one of you!
