Home for the Holidays – Part II

unnamed-6

Where there is a part I, there’s got to be a part II… right?!

We’ve actually been back in Haines since New Year’s Eve.  We rang in the New Year like true party animals – champagne, brownies, and The Princess Bride.  We know how to get down.

*Excuse the terrible picture… We were exhausted from waking up at 4am to head back to Haines.  And it shows. ;0

Even Brodie was tired.

Until he got his New Year’s present… Check out those paws by the way.  He’s my mini lion.

I’m back at work, Piper is back at school, and my mom has left us.  Life has returned to “normal.”

It’s funny… Not all that long ago I’m not sure I would have felt satisfied with a break spent doing nothing.  The go-go-go nature of my personality would have been very bothered with the lack of structure in our days, and lack of productivity.  I will admit, I had moments when I felt the need to bust out my Planbook or laminator and get to work on a school project.  But, I resisted.  I allowed myself to rest, spend as much time outdoors as possible, and enjoy the time with my loved ones.

And now, being back in my version of “normal,” I am so happy I made that decision.  <3

And now I’ll leave you with a bunch of pictures of our Christmas. 🙂
